Leveraging the Power to Help | Teleperformance

The best in people rises during the most difficult of times. Such can be said without hesitation for the men and women of two organizations – Teleperformance Philippines and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) – who have constantly been the heroes of aid during the calamitous moments in the country.

In December 2016, the Philippines bore witness to the losses and damage caused by Typhoon Nock-Ten (local name: Nina) which hit Bicol in the Southern Luzon island of the Philippines, and Visayas in the Southern Philippine region. Teleperformance Philippines, through its corporate social responsibility arm Citizen of the World (COTW), launched a campaign to engage employees in donations through monthly payroll deductions, as well as in-kind donations including clothes, medicines, food items, and other basic personal needs.

The initiative successfully raised almost USD 2,000 in cash donations from Teleperformance Philippines employees. In addition, for every applicant received on the first week of January 2017, the company donated one dollar to PRC, boosting the total cash donations to around USD 4,000. The drive also successfully collected some USD 2,000 worth of in-kind donations from all 18 sites of Teleperformance across the country.

Teleperformance Senior Vice President for Human Capital Resource Management Jeffrey Johnson presented the check donation to Philippine Red Cross officers, Ria Rivera (Officer-in-Charge for PRC Rizal Chapter and Mandaluyong City Branch Administrator) and Hilarion Dimagiba (Auditor, Board of Directors for PRC Rizal Chapter) during the turnover ceremony held at the Teleperformance site in EDSA Greenfield, Mandaluyong City. They were joined by Human Capital Resource Management Support Manager Tracy Gannaban, Communications and Marketing Director Marilyn Ventenilla, and COTW Ambassador Emil Macalinao.

Teleperformance Philippines has been actively supporting Philippine Red Cross’ efforts in providing assistance to its beneficiaries, as part of the company’s initiatives to help those affected by calamities. Moreover, Teleperformance Philippines continues to inspire employees to create positive impact to the communities, through home-building for typhoon-struck communities, repairing school classrooms, planting trees, adopting a river, holding blood donation drives, organizing relief operations, caring for the sick, the children and the elderly, and promoting energy-conservation measures in all business sites.
